Operating Instructions Bri-Luxe IR-DX1 Long Range Infrared Remote Control Handset

This Bri-Luxe product is fully compliant with the current CE marking requirements.If operated and cared for in accordance with these instructions you should benefit from years of reliable service from it. Please read these instructions fully before using your Bri-Luxe IR-DX1 long range infrared remote control handset. This product is intended specifically to be used with the Bri-Mod RD1Outdoor Remote Controlled Intelligent Dimmer Switch Module and will provide a superior range (up to 25m) compared to most commercially available IR remote control handsets when used in this application.

The Bri-Mod RD1 dimmer switch module can be programmed to respond to any of the 15 buttons (keys) on the Bri-Luxe IR-DX1 remote control handset. Please refer to the Programming and Operating Guide which accompanies each Bri-Mod RD1outdoor remote controlled intelligent dimmer switch module kit (purchased separately) for detailed instructions.

OPERATION

 Before operation of the IR-DX1 remote control handset can begin you will first need to insert 2 X new AAA alkaline batteries into the handset (batteries not included). The battery compartment can be found on the back of the unit directly underneath the numerical keypad. Slide off the plastic cover to expose the battery compartment. Match the batteries to the (+) and (-) marks found inside the compartment.  Ensure batteries are placed in the correct orientation or damage to the unit may occur.

 

Once the batteries have been installed and the cover has been securely put back into place press any one of the 15 buttons (keys) on the keypad briefly. A red LED just below the transmit symbol on the front panel should light during the button press to indicate the unit has power. The IR-DX1 remote control handset is now ready for use.

 

For optimum performance point the end of the IR-DX1 remote control handset with the Transmit Symbol towards the green Bri-Luxe logo on the Bri-Mod RD1 and ensure a clear line of sight with no obstructions from the remote control handset to the Bri-Mod RD1 dimmer switch module.

WARRANTY

 

 In the unlikely event that this product should become defective within 24 months of its purchase date, please contact Bri-Luxe Ltd using the appropriate Enquiry Form found on the “Contact” page of our web site at www.bri-luxe.com.  Select “RMA Request – IR-DX1” on the Service of Interest drop down menu and state the date and place of purchase including full details of the fault to arrange for issue of an RMA number. Once an RMA number has been issued you may return the defective unit for analysis. Should Bri-Luxe Ltd determine the unit as defective we will gladly replace or repair the unit free of charge provided that:

 

DISPOSAL & RECYCLING INFORMATION

The Crossed Out Wheeled Bin symbol shown above indicates that your product must be disposed of properly in accordance with local and European laws. When the product reaches its end of life, do not mix it with general household waste. There is a separate collection system in place for used electrical and electronic products in accordance with legislation that requires proper treatment, recovery and recycling.

 

Private Householders in the member states of the EU may return their used Bri-Luxe Ltd. electrical and electronic products free of charge to designated collection facilities. By disposing of the product in this way, you will ensure that your waste electrical and electronic equipment undergoes the necessary treatment, recovery and recycling and will help to prevent potential negative effects on the environment and human health.
